Whether your looking to spend a quiet evening under the stars with that special someone, heading out for an awesome shopping and dining experience, or just looking for a great place to take the family out for an afternoon picnic, Sacramento is the place for you! From the charming parks of Sacramento, lake side bike trails of Folsom, and those “hush hush” spots in the hills few know about, Sacramento and the surrounding areas are filled with gems just waiting for you create memories of a lifetime. If you are just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some quality time with family, you are in the right place as we review some of the top Sacramento sunset spots!

We are about to dive into some of the best areas for spring time fun Sacramento has to offer. With the winter months fading and spring quickly approaching, take advantage of this wonderful time of year to explore the great outdoors! There is something to be said about enjoying a breathtaking view at these Sacramento sunset spots; something that too few of us take advantage of on a regular basis. You surely will not regret it, and if your like me a good sunset is just the ticket to lighten the load and relieve the stress associated with today’s busy life style. Likewise, your children are sure to remember those sunny afternoon picnics at the park for a lifetime. So get up, get out, and don’t look back! Here we go!

Located off Auburn Folsom Rd in Folsom, Beal’s Point is one of the more popular places to spend the day with loved ones. With a beautiful picnic area equipped with barbecues next to the beach, this is nearly the perfect place to enjoy a family gathering under the sun. With a full service snack bar and rental equipment shack, feel free to spend the day on paddle boats, jet skis, canoes, row boats, and sail boards. After your water festivities are over, kick back in the shade under a canopy or head over for a fun game of volleyball! There is no shortage of fun at Beal’s point! Just don’t forget the $10 park admission fee. It’s totally worth it!

With over 1 million square feet of buildings nestled in on 100 acres of land, El Dorado Hills Town Center has just about anything you can think of! For a short 20 mile drive east of Sacramento, the town center is literally the heart of El Dorado Hills. Complete with local and national retailers, restaurants and bars, gourmet markets, fitness club, movie theater, hotel, day spa, fountains and waterways, and even a public amphitheater! This is a great place to spend the day shopping and dining. Highly consider this one as a place for a romantic date, as I hear the sunset view from here is amazing as well!

Located just off Old Davis Rd near Highway 80 in Davis, UC Davis Arboretum is sure to leave an impression! With no admission charge and open year round 24 hours a day, this is truly a place to relieve some tension! With 3.5 miles of paved pathways in over 100 acres filled with around 22,000 trees and plants from around the world, this is the spot for a nice springtime stroll! This one truly speaks for itself, and you simply must see to believe!

William Land Park-3800 South Land Park Dr. Sacramento

Most commonly known as “Land Park” to Sacrament-ans, this is a perfect picnic and recreation spot located in the heart of Sacramento. Nearby you will find the Sacramento zoo, Fairy Tale Town, Funderland, and the William Land golf course. This park literally has something for everyone! Perfect for a family picnic near the pond, a great outdoor birthday party for the kids, or just to relax on a nice stroll among-st the different types of ducks and geese that reside here. This is a beautiful spot to spend the day and appreciate Sacramento’s history and culture.

“The Spot”- Top of the Hill on Sierra College Blvd., Newcastle unnamed (1)

This one is a personal favorite. Located at the top of the hill on Sierra College Blvd, just outside Loomis and heading into Newcastle, it is a perfect escape from the rest of the world. You will notice a a small parking area in front of a beaten wire fence. Just beyond that is a breathtaking view of the hillside with large boulders and trees scattered about. In the spring time expect to see wide open green fields of grass, and enjoy the calming sound of the hillside winds. Truly a peaceful spot, it is great as well for a family picnic, and a sunset you wont soon forget! A gem hidden in the hills!
